Joamer González
Owner/Director
Joamer González is a performer and dance teacher from Puerto Rico. His musical credits include: “Fame”, “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Quién mató a Héctor Lavoe?” and “Chicago”, where he collaborated as an assistant choreographer as well. Also, he toured and performed with Grammy award winner Gisselle and choreographed the Puerto Rico & U.S. tour and “Hora Enamorada” music video for a Grammy Award winner Elvis Crespo and Grammy award winner Olga Tañón performance in the Banco Popular Holiday Special. His work as a choreographer includes: “Pasaporte a la Fama” (TV movie for Telemundo Puerto Rico, and singer Martin Méndez’s Tour in Argentina.
In New York, he performed with Arthur Aviles Typical Theatre, “Ear to Ground” (directed and choreographed by Arthur Aviles), “Throw Like a Girl” (choreography by Doug Elkins), and “Room to Panic” (Loco7 at LaMaMa ETC). Other performances: “Salsa Gorda” (choreographed by Luis Salgado, “Diamond Spectacular” (Foxwoods Casino”), “Broadway Underground”, “Hollywood Sings” and “Brides” (Pregones Theatre). TV credits: Makano (singer)“MTV3’s Entertainment as a 2nd Language” (dancer/choreographer), Ana Isabelle “Univision New Year’s Eve at Times Square” (dancer/choreographer), Amelia Vega (Miss Universe 2007) and upcoming artist Daniel Patrick Ellis.
Joamer has a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Sacred Heart University of Puerto Rico. He currently owns and manages Bridge For Dance in NYC. As a teacher, he has taught for the Contemporary & Jazz Program of Joffrey Ballet School and Ballet Hispanico.
Also, he collaborates with Kim LaRue on the New York City Dance Collaborative projects like “Encuentros de Danza”& "LaRouge Follies” at ACT2 PV in México.
Kim LaRue
Founder & Artistic Advisor
Kim holds an M.A. in Dance and Dance Education from Teachers College Columbia University. She has been on the faculties of Teachers College Columbia University Creative Arts Laboratory, Steps on Broadway, and 92nd Street Y Harkness Dance Center. She currently teaches at The Ailey School Professional Division and also serves as Guest Artist in Residence for Westchester Pubilc Schools.
Mrs. LaRue finds that by giving students opportunities to explore or examine subjects through their kinesthetic and sensory modalities, they become more invested in their studies. Her background includes performance and choreography for numerous musical theater productions, character roles in ballet productions, improvisational performance projects in museums, galleries, and commercial choreography for special events in Texas and New York.
Mrs. LaRue has worked with dancers and actors throughout the United States, Europe, and Mexico. She served as producer of the Uptown Performance Series, a venue for choreographers and dancers, in addition to directing the Young Dancers Contemporary Rhythms / Jazz-Tap Ensemble for 10 years, leading their rehearsals and performances across many events in the New York City area.
Currently Mrs. LaRue works with her company, New York City Dance Collaborative, creating innovative works collaboratively with her dancers. The company rehearses in New York City and has performed at cultural events in Mexico. Also, she is producing, choreographing and directing “Follies LaRouge” & “REVEAL” at ACT2 PV in Puerto Vallarta, México
